چکیده

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic debilitating disease characterized by inflammatory nodules and sinus tracts in areas rich terminal hair follicles apocrine glands. Lifestyle factors associated with oxidative stress, such as obesity smoking, worsen symptoms. An early step HS follicular dilation occlusion keratin, which results rupture robust response. Nrf2 signaling key regulator of response to environmental redox insults keratin expression. Herein, we utilized indirect immunofluorescence (IF) assess levels total phosphorylated (active) its inhibitor Keap1 lesional skin (n=10) sex-matched healthy controls (n=4). There was decrease IF signal for all three targets compared controls. Next, examined whether 16 (K16) may provide potential mechanistic link between dysfunctional hyperkeratinization follicles. K16 stress-inducible target signaling. Moreover, overexpression tissue-specific transgenic mouse model aberrant keratinization the outer root sheath. We found an upregulation both type II binding partner K6 hyperplastic sheath tracts. This suggest that impaired signaling, possibly virtue bidirectional regulatory relationship K16, contribute HS. Given growing evidence efficacy topical inducers attractiveness intervention HS, this work opens up new promising therapeutic avenues clinically devastating limited treatment options.

Early-onset hidradenitis suppurativa.

A 9-year-old girl developed hidradenitis suppurativa 3 months after the first signs of adrenarche. Such a close temporal relationship is consistent with the hypothesis that the disease is androgen dependent. Less than 2% of patients have onset of the disease before the age of 11 years. The exceptionally early age of onset in our patient may be partly explained by the fact that she had an early ...

Acne Conglobata Associated with Hidradenitis Suppurativa, Disorders of Follicular Occlusion

The author is presenting the case of a 23-year-old female patient with a severe form of acne conglobata, with the first symptoms of the disease occurring as far back as the prepubertal age. In the past year the disease has combined with hidradenitis suppurativa (to be referred to henceforth as “HS”), Hurley stage I, in the axillae and both sides of the inguinal region, with a family history of ...

Hidradenitis suppurativa.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic, relapsing, inflammatory disease process that primarily involves the axilla and/or inguinal region and does not manifest itself until after puberty. Typically, the process begins as a local occlusive disease of a sweat gland; secondary bacterial infection then occurs. The early stages of hidradenitis suppurativa are usually managed by the dermatologist. Onc...

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic disease characterized by recurrent, painful, deep-seated, rounded nodules and abscesses of apocrine gland-bearing skin. Subsequent suppuration, sinus tracts and hypertrophic scarring are its main features. Onset is usually after puberty, although it is most common during the third decade and may persist in old age. The disease tends to be chronic and may de...
